AWD Rejects the Seasonal Eyewear Uniform

Summer tends to arrive with instructions: what to wear, where to go, and which aesthetic is suddenly worth building a personality around. AWD would rather leave the season open-ended.
Marking its first anniversary, the Los Angeles-based eyewear brand debuts AWD SUMMER, the first installment of what will become an annual campaign centered on individuality and self-expression. Photographed and directed by Callum Walker Hutchinson in Los Angeles, the campaign features AWD’s debut eyewear collection on a cast spanning generations, backgrounds, and personal styles.

There is no single “summer girl” here, and that is more or less the point. Instead of organizing the campaign around one prescribed look, AWD lets each subject exist on their own terms, treating style as something personal rather than seasonal.

Founded in August 2025, AWD describes itself as a design-forward eyewear label drawing from high fashion, underground culture, and the appeal of being a little odd. AWD SUMMER extends that idea beyond the product itself: the best way to wear summer might be to stop trying so hard to look like everyone else’s version of it.
