Lexus and Tokyo design house AMBUSH have joined forces on a new collaborative project, The Future Classic Club. In contrast to today’s culture of disposable consumption, the project celebrates continuous evolution while honoring enduring, time-tested craftsmanship.

Without losing sight of their respective cultural roots, the two brands look toward what comes next. For its debut, The Future Classic Club has released a limited capsule collection alongside a short film directed by Xavier Tera.

The collaboration feels natural given both brands’ shared roots in Japanese culture and craftsmanship. Founded in 2008 by Yoon Ahn and Verbal as a pop art-inspired jewelry line, AMBUSH emerged from Tokyo’s underground creative scene. Today, the label spans fashion and music while remaining grounded in the city’s spirit of creative experimentation.

In a similar vein, Lexus embraces the idea of taking something familiar and shifting it into new territory, as seen through its IS model. The sports sedan was introduced in 2001 as a reinterpretation of the luxury car for a younger generation; 25 years later, it continues to embody that philosophy.

A cinematic film, lensed by Montreal-born photographer Xavier Tera, sets the scene for the launch. Moving between two distinct visions of Tokyo, one rooted in the early-2000s salaryman world and another in contemporary society, the film features three multi-hyphenate figures who move fluidly across music, fashion, art, technology, and culture: Sara Choi, a professional drifter and founder of Badseki; Reo Sano, an actor and dancer from the group GENERATIONS; and Reiji Okamoto, drummer for the band OKAMOTO’S and curator of YAGI EXHIBITION.
For the limited capsule collection, AMBUSH’s Yoon Ahn translates the design language of the Lexus IS into wearable apparel and hardware accessories. Drawing on the model’s materials, hardware, upholstery, and engineering, the lineup includes a Future Classic Club leather fireman jacket, a red quilted jacket, graphic T-shirts, a cap, and a carabiner.
The limited-edition collection will be available in select quantities on AMBUSH beginning September 25, 2026, at midnight EDT / 1 PM JST.
