Inside Solomun and Peggy Gou's Pacha Ibiza Takeover

Every summer, Ibiza produces a handful of nights that feel bigger than the lineup itself. Solomun +1 is one of them.

 

More than a decade into its iconic residency at Pacha, Solomun has transformed the weekly series into a platform for a musical dialogue, inviting artists whose perspectives challenge, complement, and expand his own. On Sunday, July 19, that collaborator was Peggy Gou.

A defining force in contemporary electronic music, Gou arrived with the effortless energy that has made her one of the scene’s most recognizable selectors. Her opening set moved fluidly through house, disco, and groove-driven cuts, buzzing up a warm, kinetic atmosphere without rushing the night’s momentum. 

Inside Pacha’s labyrinth, it felt as though you were stepping through different realities, especially within its pulsing interiors, where towering digital screens transformed the club into something almost otherworldly.

Moving from the balcony behind the DJ booth into the heart of the dance floor and out to the balmy open-air garden mirrored the night’s progression itself, with each space revealing another layer of the music. It’s a reminder of why Pacha has endured as one of Ibiza’s most iconic clubs.

When Solomun stepped behind the decks, the energy evolved naturally into the hypnotic, melodic sound that has become synonymous with Sundays at Pacha. Rather than transfiguring the energy Gou conjured, his set deepened it, weaving together emotional highs, understated tension, and seemingly serendipitous releases that kept the dance floor locked in until the early hours.

The evening reached its natural conclusion when the pair reunited for a closing back-to-back, where their contrasting instincts merged into a seamless conversation, which perfectly captures Solomun’s b2b ethos. It’s not about the guest list alone, but the space it creates for artists to push one another in real time. 

This Sunday, August 2, Dixon joins Solomun in the booth, following last week’s set with Anyma. As the residency continues through October, upcoming appearances from DJ Gigola, Max Styler, Barry Can’t Swim, and KETTAMA, solidify Solomun +1 remains one of Ibiza’s defining institutions. And it’s exactly why we can’t stop coming back.
