On a Wednesday night in Italy, fashion’s crowds converged at Milano Centrale Station, where MM6 Maison Margiela unveiled its Fall/Winter show—a procession of sleek officewear tinged with a subtle Midwestern sensibility.

As guests gathered inside the station’s cavernous waiting room, models emerged in dimly tinted eyeshields that curved in smooth arcs, shuffling along the marbled walkway, its walls and floors bearing the patina of history.

While the location usually bustles with commuters arriving and departing, tonight the backdrop lent itself to MM6’s fashion crowd. Sporting everyday clothes with a touch of chic V-necks, retro shell jackets, and gleaming knee-high boots, the label heightened normality by playing with hems, prints, and layering.

Draped loosely or falling at a precise length, jackets and coats shifted between two contrasting silhouettes. A boxy grey coat appeared with its hem turned up, while brown leather and suede jackets ended neatly at the wrist or just shortly below the elbow. Checkered flannel shirts that shimmered beneath trench coats and denim jackets, and denim tucked into boots, both hinted at an 80’s-tinged equestrian mood. Horse graphics came printed onto sun-kissed oversized T-shirts and fleece jackets. Alongside butter-colored flowing dresses, pants, and shell jackets, the details further cemented the American Midwestern sensibility.

A mix of streamlined looks—anchored by sheer tights, black full skirts, and sharp blazers—leaned more toward corporate wear in its expression. Buckled at the waist and ruffled at the hem, the skirts swung in joyous motion as the models strode on, paired with flannel button-downs, navy A-line sports jerseys, or grey trench coats. Button-down shirts appeared deliberately disrupted, left half-unbuttoned, while V-necks kept the look clean-cut, styled with pencil skirts, culottes, and blue denims. With an oversized handbag in hand, the ensemble conjured a chic commuter sprinting through the busy station.
